Corporate Volunteering

Basic Electricity

The Corporate Volunteering Program of the Alpargatas Institute (AI) also offers regular projects, such as the Basic Electricity Vocational Course to young people and adults. The focus is to train those who are looking for opportunities in the job market, or those wanting to enhance their skills in order to develop their career.

The initiative is free of charge and started in Santa Rita (PB), in 2005, being later adopted by volunteers from Campina Grande (PB) due to the great success achieved. The course is offered in partnership with the city’s Secretary of Education and the National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI), as authorities for proper certification and training of the participants.

The classes are held twice a week, usually at night, over a four-month period. The 160-hour course is intended for the community and the units’ employees wishing to participate. To participate, one must be at least 16 years of age, have completed elementary school and present an identification document.
